Maersk Oil Kazakhstan GmbH is looking for an experienced professional Senior Surveyor to head the Geomatics function at our offices in Aktau.
Geomatics support is critical to and has a direct impact on the efficiency and safety of development and production processes. As Geomatics Lead you will be responsible for the successful delivery of this support to Maersk Oil Kazakhstan’s departments and teams. You will ensure that stake out and as-built surveys are planned and executed in time and that the quality and integrity of as-built asset location data meets business objectives.
You will work in close cooperation with the Head of the Civil/Structural Team and the entire Facilities Engineering team and you will have a key role in ensuring that Maersk Oil Kazakhstan continuously runs a safe and efficient operation.

The position is only for Kazakhstan citizens.
We Offer
Maersk Oil Kazakhstan GmbH (MOK) holds a 60% interest and operatorship of the Dunga field with partners Partex Oil and Gas and Oman Oil Overseas holding a 20% interest each. The 281 square km onshore block is located some 50 km north of Aktau in western Kazakhstan. It is operated under a Production Sharing Agreement signed in 1994;

Key Responsibilities
You will:
•Lead, manage and plan the deployment of the resources of the Geomatics Team and ensure that the quality, value and timeliness of the support provided to departments and teams meet objectives and business needs.
•Scope, specify, supervise and quality control the stake out and as-built survey conducted by construction contractors in line with company and Kazak regulatory requirements.
•Manage stake out, surveying and mapping activities and the activities of project surveyors, contractors, QC supervisors and consultants while you ensure that technical and business objectives are met and that the survey operations are completed safely and within budget.
•Quality control, manage and maintain geospatial data and products of principal significance to the business, topographic and asset as-built location and depth of burial data, subsurface position data and licence boundary delineations.
•Ensure the quality and integrity of coordinate reference system set-up and of coordinate/position data in G&G application environments and databases.
•Promote geodetic awareness and the integrity of geospatial data used in business processes.
•Support the development and maintenance of work scopes and technical specifications for land based survey operations in line with technological developments and industry standards and practices.
•Provide support and expert technical advice within practical geodesy, surveying and mapping to departments and teams.

Who we are looking for

You are able to demonstrate the strong personal drive and commitment necessary to produce high quality results under challenging conditions. You have the skills required to fulfil the position, not only the technical aspects but also in the areas of project and contract management and the underlying commercial principles.
You have an outgoing personality with leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate contracted survey companies and supervisory staff and you are able to network and communicate clearly with third party contractors as well as colleagues across departmental boundaries.
You have excellent written and spoken technical Russian and English language skills.
You have proven organisational skills and the ability to work in a support function.
You have working knowledge of CAD and GIS applications for mapping and management of geospatial data, of survey data acquisition, processing and QC applications and of the main G&G applications and their use in E&P business processes.
You have experience with development of policies, technical standards, and technical work scopes.
You are qualified at MSc level within surveying and mapping (Geomatics), geodesy or similar discipline.
You have 10 years relevant experience within topographic and engineering surveying in support of engineering and construction of land based production facilities and at least five years’ experience within the E&P business. You have extensive experience with management of contracted services in an international environment, supervision of survey contractors, quality control of survey and mapping deliverables and management and use of geospatial and geo-referenced data in E&P business processes.
