Maersk Oil Qatar is currently developing and expanding the facilities in the Al Shaheen Field offshore Qatar. The Maersk Oil Research & Technology Centre (MORTC) is Maersk Oil’s first global research and technology centre tasked with developing cutting-edge applications for the Al Shaheen field while supporting Qatar’s 2030 Vision of a knowledge-based future. The $100 million USD centre, dubbed the MORTC, is located at the Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), which is supported by other industrial majors including oil companies. The MO-RTC will focus on research that will create practical and applicable solutions to clearly-defined problems in oil and gas production.

Key Responsibilities
To conduct a literature study, gather and analyse field design data for recently drilled wells in the al Shaheen field to establish the benefits of using the Controlled Acid Jetting (CAJ) completion design. To work closely together with MO-RTC and several departments, such as Subsurface, Drilling, Field Development and Operations teams in Maersk Oil Qatar to gather the data and deliver tangible results. The objectives are to learn about the final stages of the well construction process, get first-hand experience in the completion design process analyse operational results and present the findings. You will leave behind a dataset which will be used by the MO-RTC team to match the expected vs. field results and further refine the well design.
Who we are looking for
A student who is currently studying Petroleum/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering and who has good communication skills. They should have the ability to start the project and get necessary information and work in the MORTC Team, as well as presenting the results at the end of the internship.
