We offer a position for an associate accounting specialist who wishes to be part of an international team consisting of around 60 highly skilled people located in a handful of offices around the world.

As accounting specialist, you will engage with key stakeholders across Maersk Oil Trading to successfully improve and optimize our accounting procedures.

Maersk Headquarters at Esplanaden and the IT Headquarters at Dampfærgevej are highly international and inspiring environments with an attractive value proposition for the employees.

Key Responsibilities
You will become part of the Back Office and Accounting team who is organized as part of Maersk Oil Trading’s Finance department and as accounting specialist, we see you as a driving force in successfully improving and optimizing our accounting procedures as well as develop new accounting procedures supporting new business activities.

As part of our continuous optimization of our procedures we are in the process of implementing Robotics, in which you will be trained and take part in implementing and have a future role as superuser.

Your accounting responsibilities are related to Maersk Oil Trading’s trading activities and agency business involving different legal entities and you will have frequent contact with colleagues both in Copenhagen and in our offices in New York, Singapore and Rotterdam.

You will play and essential role in updating operational performance management ensuring that the daily operational tasks are performed in a high quality and in a timely manner.

The daily operational tasks are primarily related to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable combined with monthly task relating to month end closing.

Areas of Responsibility include:
• Daily follow up on overdue receivables
• Follow up and report customers with exceeded credit limits
• Prepare credit report to MOT management and credit committee
• Process and ensure timely payments
• Process travel expenses and perform reconciliation of credit card transactions
• Prepare monthly accruals and account reconciliations
• Monitor and resolve transaction errors related to IT system and Robotics technology.
Who we are looking for
You hold a master’s degree in finance, economics or similar and have min 2-5 years of experience from accounting or audit.

Besides a good understanding of accounting processes and proficiency in use of IT applications it is a plus to have a good understanding and interest for Robotics technology and scripting.

You are a team player with personal drive and work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.

You can adapt quickly to a changing environment, and in doing so you can be creative and come up with innovative solutions supporting our business.
