The Maersk Oil Research & Technology Centre (MO-RTC) is Maersk Oil’s first global research and technology centre tasked with developing cutting-edge applications for the Al Shaheen field while supporting Qatar’s 2030 Vision of a knowledge-based future. The $100 million USD centre, dubbed the MO-RTC, is located at the Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), which is supported by other industrial majors including oil companies. The MO-RTC will focus on research that will create practical and applicable solutions to clearly-defined problems in oil and gas production.

The MO-RTC will divide its work into four streams – developing applications for its renowned long horizontal wells to improve oil recovery, defining and investigating new Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) methods, Providing Digital Rock Physics technical expertise and researching Qatar’s marine ecosystem to help reduce Maersk Oil’s environmental footprint.

The role purpose is to provide technical and administrative support to the admin and technical functions within the MO-RTC

Ensure that safe work processes are executed and comply with relevant health, safety (occupational & process) and environmental excellence procedures and controls within area of responsibility to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.
Support Technical Manager and Team Leads with activities related to abstracts, conference papers, presentations and reports documenting the study in order to promote the MO-RTC profile
Assist Technical Manager with reports consolidation including monthly dashboard, Steering Committee (SC) annual report, and QSTP annual report.
Assist Office Manager with managing the facilities of MO-RTC office.
Assist the Head of MO-RTC with managing research contracts.
Co-ordinate and manage personnel tasks not limited to leave records, absences, travel coordination, office inventory, vendor registrations and SAP entries.
Assist Head of MO-RTC and the Office Manager in coordinating our financials records with MOQ FBS team in the areas of budgets, accruals and rolling forecasts.
Support Office Manager and Communication Specialist with internal and external stakeholder management in best way to promote the center
Support Office Manager and Communication Specialist with managing internal and external events such as workshops, conferences, VIP ceremonies etc
Reporting
Filing documentation
Provide support for MOQ and Business Units when needed
Any other ad hoc tasks assigned by MO-RTC Management

Who we are looking for
Team player with good social skills
Strong personal drive to deliver results
Have developed reporting and presentation skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office products and familiar with SAP
Be comfortable with both ad-hoc task and working under time – pressure being able to multi-task.
Analytical and reporting skills
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Bachelor Degree in Scientific or engineering education (Diploma in science or engineering)
0-3 years’ experience is desirable, preferably in the upstream oil & gas industry.
