Maersk Drilling is looking for 1 Senior Buyer to join our international procurement team in Singapore. The team will play a central role in the new established Centre of Excellence – Supply Chain, Singapore.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Buyer in our supply chain team, you will be assigned the responsibility of supporting one or two of our rigs/drillships working in Africa, Egypt and/or Baku with end-to-end purchasing and logistics activities. It will be your responsibility to oversee and support the purchasing activities to ensure optimized delivery to our rigs/drillships. You will also be responsible for overseeing the entire expenditure of the rig(s) and identify areas for contract negotiations and execute accordingly. You will be the main driver of various initiatives to improve the supply chain and logistics activities with to the rig management team, be responsible for developing your account and ensuring procurement involvement in all bigger purchases, and plan ahead with the Drilling teams to ensure an efficient and cost optimized supply chain.

Some of your main responsibilities are:
  • Close coordination and collaboration with the assigned buyer(s) to ensure a smooth day-to-day procurement of goods and services for our unit operations; handling of orders, follow-up with suppliers and handling of invoices
  • Handling of urgent orders
  • Spend analysis and forecasting of major future purchases
  • Negotiation of Frame Agreements for all bigger spend areas not covered by a global strategy/the contract management team
  • Explore, establish and maintain good relations with key suppliers for rig/drillships
  • Close dialogue with the onshore and off-shore units to ensure procurement support on all bigger purchases
  • Constantly challenge and review logistic set-up to ensure an optimized supply chain
  • Drive projects to improve operations; number of urgent, inventory levels, logistics operations etc..
  • Drive procurement initiatives across units – ensure a holistic approach wherever possible
Who we are looking for
• Candidates with experience in a Buyer positions, and – preferably 1-2 years from the offshore or Oil & Gas industry
• Knowledge about procurement in Africa, Egypt and/or Baku would be advantageous
• International mind-set and experience from working in an international supply chain environment
• Natural curiosity to challenge status quo
• Proactive – little supervision needed
• Good communication, relationship and networking skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong advantage if experience has been gained from conducting negotiations and establishing frame agreements
• Ability to deal with high stress levels and ability to multi-task with limited time and resources in a structured manner
• Experience working with RFMP, IFS or similar procurement systems
• Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Fluent in English – written and spoken
• French or Portuguese as a second language is an advantage

Travelling is required in the position to rig operations in Africa, Egypt and/or Baku and suppliers in the region.

It is required occasionally to support out of office hours to provide support to the rigs 24/7
