Maersk is the largest shipping and container logistics company in the world. A $40bn organisation with over 85,000 people, we ship roughly 20% of the world’s container freight. We’re bringing our organisation together to become an integrated container shipping and logistics company, fundamentally re-thinking how we do business. Improving our customer experience is a core priority.
Technology systems are an integral part of this change. We're re-crafting both our customer-facing systems and our data-intensive operational ones, to provide outstanding services and experience to our customers.
We need a Product Designer to help shape this future.
Joining Maersk T&L will embark you on a great journey with career development in a global organisation. As product designer you will gain broad business knowledge of the company’s activities globally, as well as understand how the complexity of IT supports the transport and logistics business.
You will be exposed to a wide and challenging range of business issues through regular engagement with key stakeholders across all management levels within Maersk.
You will work and communicate across geographical and cultural borders that will enable you to build a strong professional network. We believe people thrive when they are in charge of their career paths and professional growth. We will provide you with opportunities to broaden your knowledge and strengthen your technical and professional foundation.
By choosing Maersk, you join not only for the role, but for a career. From here your path may take you towards extended responsibilities within Application Development, IT Delivery or IT Leadership.
We aim to be a world-class professional IT organisation that delivers business value through automation, standardisation and innovation. We believe in empowerment where each of us takes ownership and responsibility for developing and implementing new ways of working.
You will apply your craft to create a cohesive experience for our customers across touch-points. As Product Designer, you will be working across the design cycle, helping generate detailed understanding of our customers' needs, collaboratively generating conceptual and detailed designs, and validating them.
You'll be part of a team working to solve our customer’s problems in how they manage and track their cargo and manage their global supply chains, working alongside our organisational owners, service designers, qual & quant researchers, engineering teams, and more. You will conceptualise both incremental and disruptive change, supporting those concepts with evidence of viability.
Challenges don’t come more complex than this, with global scale delivering value for some of the world’s largest brands as they create, co-ordinate and manage their complex worldwide supply chains. This is an industry undergoing huge change and you get to play a key role in defining how it evolves. This will be a knotty, challenging problem requiring system-level thinking. Your ability to collaborate with others will be key, along with an ability to present and defend holistic concepts at the top and bottom of the organisation.
This is your opportunity to flex a forty billion dollar business - and measure your impact.
