We are currently looking for a Instrument Operator who, Under direction of the Production Supervisor, operates assigned topside process safely and efficiently and maintains the computer control systems, telecommunication, fire and gas, shutdown and related systems. This is done in accordance with legislative requirements, company health, safety, environmental, integrity and other relevant standards and Maersk values in conjunction with production operating procedures.
This role will be working an equal time rota on a 3/3 basis

•Commitment to MOUK incident free operations.
•Participate as a member of the Production Supervisor’s team in delivering Maersk Oil UK Limited performance against targets.
•Ensure necessary preparation for relevant scheduled activities.
•Safe and efficiently operation of process systems from either the Central control room or local panels including monitoring and response to alarm conditions.
•Responsible for execution and record keeping of verification, well testing and other routine activities.
•Prepares process and equipment isolation and Permit to Work (PTW) in accordance with relevant procedures including subsequent inspection and start up of the facilities.
•Responsible for the housekeeping of assigned areas.
•First line maintenance and assistance in fault-finding of the DCS.
•Nominated person responsible for small bore tubing and fittings.
•Ensure that the underlying causes of failures are understood and that action is taken to avoid repeat failures.
•Bring defects in practices, equipment, tools, protective clothing to the attention of relevant staff.
•Liaise with projects, vendors and OEMs so as to maintain instrument & control maintenance plans and documentation.
•Maintain accurate and appropriate maintenance records and ensure that the data is entered into the appropriate information management systems.
•Execute duties as specified in the station/bill/emergency response procedures or as directed by the OIM.
•Build effective working relationships with other departments and shifts.
•Comply with Company procedures and ensure a full and comprehensive handover detailing all relevant information in accordance with these procedures.
•Commit to MOUK Competence Assurance System and undertake any training and assessment required for the role.
|Who we are looking for|
|•Recognised N/SVQ Process Engineering Maintenance (Instrument and Control) Level 3 or equivalent.|
•Current COMPEX Certification.
•Experience of on and offshore operations.
•Experience of organising, coordinating and controlling/monitoring work.
•Experience in the control and use of “Safe Systems of Work” (PTW) including their procedures.
•Knowledge of instrument & control maintenance, associated technical standards, processes and relevant legislation.
•Written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present technical issues in a clear and concise manner.
•Ability to create positive relations to peers and stakeholders internally and externally.
•Ability to read and work from engineering/vendor drawings including P&ID’s and Cause & Effects.
