The team works closely with Maersk Oil business leaders, Category Managers and our peers in the other Maersk Oil business units.
You will be a key player in identifying and developing new sourcing strategies and projects to enhance collaboration with our key suppliers in order to increase value and reduce costs for Maersk Oil and suppliers.

In this position, you will use your knowledge and experience to identify, create and manage contracting relationships with selected suppliers.
You will bring together our own experience and expertise with that of our suppliers to identify the key opportunities that will create value and reduce costs. You will obtain support for these opportunities and will lead negotiations or tenders as appropriate. Finally, you play a key role in contract and supplier relationship management (SRM).
Key Responsibilities
You will supply us with business improvements through new or enhanced contracts and collaborations with our suppliers.
You will operate as a business partner, recognizing stakeholder needs and requirements.
You will also be an ambassador for Maersk Oil to our suppliers and will work with them and your internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for value creation and cost reduction and prioritize them.
You will lead the establishment, negotiation and maintenance of strategic contracts and agreements with relevant suppliers in a commercially sound manner and in accordance with applicable procurement regulations, internal procedures and guidelines.
Finally, you will be a key driver towards contract and supplier management efforts in order to fully deliver on the identified opportunities.

Moreover, your responsibilities include:
Driving and coordinating identification and quantification of business improvements through our supplier relationships.
Ensuring stakeholder buy in and building the necessary cross functional team to develop and deliver them.
Conducting Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and act as the focal point for supplier selection and evaluation, including maintaining relationships with strategically important suppliers, auditing, evaluating, quality assuring and setting KPIs for supplier performance and agreements.
Who we are looking for
You are an experienced dealmaker,
business developer and/or procurement professional, who routinely looks for the opportunity to improve our business beyond price.
You have experience in identifying value drivers and cost levers and know how to translate this into improvement opportunities and contracting structures.
You are familiar with the entire sourcing process, and you are able to partly or fully delegate control and identify risks of this process.
You are an experienced and respected negotiator.
Moreover, the key to your success is your ability to build close collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and to have hands-on knowledge of stakeholder issues, managing trust-based relationships.

Your other qualifications include:
  • A Master’s degree or equivalent within a relevant field of study, e.g. Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Sourcing, Cand. Merc. or HD
  • 8 years plus experience with business development, contract management and/or strategic sourcing – preferably from large international company and /or from the Oil and gas industry.
  • Technical insight and/or interest plus the ability to interface with technicians
  • Formal project management qualifications and/or substantial practical experience, being able to lead and initiate cross-functional project teams
  • Experience with SAP and Ariba is an advantage
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
