Maersk Oil Qatar AS is the leading oil producer offshore Qatar and a recognized pioneer in oil development and production techniques. On the basis of an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) signed in 1992 with Qatar Petroleum, Maersk Oil Qatar (MOQ) is the sole operator of the Al Shaheen Field and has recently completed one of the largest oil projects in the world with capital investments of approx. 6 billion USD, called FDP 2005, comprising the drilling of more than 160 production and water injection wells. The current oil production from the Al Shaheen Field is approx. 300,000 barrels/day.

The Doha Office is currently executing for the next stage of the development of the Al Shaheen field with the expectation of drilling up to 50 additional wells over the next three years, an investment of approximately a billion dollars.

Key Responsibilities
The role of Senior Reservoir Engineer will cover the activities listed below:

•Well planning & completion
•Data collection programs
•Well and reservoir management including production surveillance, optimization and forecasting
•Pressure conditioning program and optimisation
•Performance management, actual vs. predicted well results
•Opportunity identification, maturation and close-out
•Responsible for the overall engineering input into the well delivery process
•Support the Implementation team leader in reservoir engineering issues
•Mentoring Junior staff
Who we are looking for
Candidate with
•B.Sc. Engineering or higher degree
•Minimum of 5 to 15 years relevant industry experience

The candidate should also
•Be an effective team player with strong analytical abilities thriving in inter-disciplinary environments
•Have extensive operational experience
• Pending the role, proficient in:
- General well and reservoir management
- Black oil reservoir simulation - preferably Eclipse and related software
- Nodal Analysis - preferably PETEX software
- Pressure transient analysis - preferably Kappa software
•Have knowledge of programming (VBA)
•Have knowledge of MDT/Fluid sampling program design experience
•Have fluency in English – written and spoken
