Maersk Oil is looking for a Senior Safety Engineer who will play a critical role in driving the execution of the defined scope and deliverables during the Select/Define/Execute stages for Well Head, Process, Utility and Accommodation Platforms, Subsea Pipelines, Brownfield Tie-ins, ITT Packages for FEED, and detailed engineering and procurement activities from a technical, quality and assurance perspective.

Key Responsibilities
The Senior Safety Engineer shall support the Integrated Project Team (Greenfield and Brownfield Facilities Engineering) on all safety engineering matters and provide technical assurance (TA-3 Level) for the project in the discipline of Safety Engineering.
The Senior Safety Engineer shall provide expertise within the areas of consequence analysis/risk assessment/safety reviews and engineering/design of safety systems to effectively support the FDP 2013 project, thus ensuring all safety and process safety hazards are adequately addressed in the design of the new facilities and tie-in to brownfield facilities.
Through a Line of Sight reporting and governance structure the Senior Safety Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to:
•Drive an Incident Free environment through establishing a strong safety culture within the Engineering team;
•Ensure the facility design is ALARP
•Review safety design documentation including: Flare/vent radiation and dispersion studies, Fire and Gas Layouts / Cause and Effects, Hazardous Area Classification Layouts, Fire Zone / Escape Route / Safety Equipment Layouts, Safety and Lifesaving Equipment Specifications, Firewater and foam demand calculations / P&IDs / Surge Analysis.
•Scope, coordinate, and/or review safety studies including: Identification of Safety Critical Elements and preparation of Performance Standards, Fire and Explosion Studies, Toxic and flammable gas dispersion, Dropped objects studies, Emergency systems survivability analysis (ESSA), Escape, evacuation and rescue analysis (ERRA), Marine hazards study,
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a Senior Safety Engineer, with an accredited degree/bachelor’s degree in safety or process engineering, with experience in the definition and design of Greenfield Oil & Gas facilities (for Offshore) minimum;
•10 years of relevant oil and gas industry experience post-graduation, and
•3-5 years’ experience on ITT package development, for FEED and detailed engineering phases on Mega Offshore Greenfield projects; Well Head, Process, Utility and Accommodation platforms.
•Proven track record in safety engineering / technical safety / process safety including design of safety systems and in consequence and risk assessment areas.
•Detailed knowledge and application of safety engineering / process safety techniques (HAZID, HAZOP, QRA, LOPA, SIL etc.) and their application including using ‘ALARP’ principles.
•Detailed knowledge of offshore oil & gas process and utility systems and associated facilities.
•High awareness of safe working practices associated with design, construction, pre-commissioning, installation, hook-up and commissioning of and on oil & gas facilities.
•Strong interpersonal and English communication skills – verbal and written.
