The IT Strategy Specialist will provide needed intelligence and filter key strategic issues on what stakeholders require from IT in an integrated and consistent way. This position will be responsible for preparing and presenting strategic issues to the Head IT Strategy &, Director IT, Head of Company departments, other IT teams, and office of the CIO or other decision making bodies with supporting business cases to educate, inform or help facilitate decision-making. Main focus for this position is to support the strategy and direction of the Company and to provide capabilities that enable business change in a consistent and well-thought way. The outcome for this position is to provide an increased level of predictability and confidence that both the business and IT will deliver technology projects in an organized and predictable manner.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Demand Management:
Manage the collection and documentation of business requirements and demand through discussion with business clients and defining design flow & structure for IT.
Translate business requirements to IT requirements.
Work closely with the assigned user community to determine how IT might assist in addressing business needs, and then translates these needs into system requirements and design specifications.
Confident in organising IT demand Steering Group up-to Director Level.
Provide analytical/strategic-thinking and leadership support that enables project teams to: 1) isolate business issues; 2) design and execute analytics for studying business issues (technology research, scenario planning, forecasting, business case development, etc.); 3) develop technical content (competitive intelligence, market trend analysis); 4) support development of formal recommendations to leadership; 5) create documents (line of business strategies, etc.) that inform critical strategic issues and decisions.
Continually develop IT plans and roadmaps.

IT Planning & reporting:
Manage the reporting of IT operational and project activities, both locally and globally.
Plan and report progress on key IT initiatives.
Plans and reports on the current roadmap to the target state.
Coach and influence indirect reports and encourages them to develop their skills and maximize overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
Together with the Corporate PMO manager, identify, evaluate and develop methods and procedures to further improve efficiency and effectiveness of the PMO Framework Standards, while meeting good business practice.
As required, provide Quality Assurance to, and perform Audit activities on, IT projects.
Promote continuous improvement of project management capabilities in the business organization through planning and organising of in house project management trainings, seminars and best practices sharing sessions.

Portfolio Management:
Manage relationships with global and local stakeholders: client departments, support departments and vendors.
Manages an overview for the local implementation of global projects.
Manage strategic projects ranging in size, complexity and often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrix teams.
Coach IT staff on the roadmap of project reporting and activities.

Who we are looking for
  • A Qatari national with a broad knowledge of IT technology with thorough knowledge of IT project management and process improvement skills.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good verbal and written English
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering degree is essential. MBA/MS degree (with Information systems) preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years in a senior IT role
