To purpose of this role is to create high quality communications for APMT India entities, both internal and external, to create an enhanced value proposition as APMT as a brand as well as public and industry relations.

In this role, you will be responsible for the creation of high quality communications, both internal and external, for the APMT India portfolio, to create an enhanced value proposition as APMT as a brand as well as public and industry relations.

Based in Mumbai, you will report to the Head of India portfolio and will divide time equally between three sights. This is an individual contributor role with functional reporting from three entities on communications matters. In addition, the incumbent will cooperate closely with the Global Communications team based in HQ.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure proper stakeholder planning management around key issues, including those with government, unions and regulatory bodies
  • Develop an APMT communications strategy for South Asia
  • Create high quality content campaigns for India entities targeted at Internal and external stakeholders to achieve stipulated objectives
  • Lead campaign management in India to result in incremental business for the company
  • Marketing APMT to the wider business, External Talent and Authorities
  • Manage the communications for leadership teams of India entities
  • In coordination with the entities: (a) Create effective internal communication strategy (b) Ensure appropriate participation in trade shows / exhibitions (c) Determine the correct direct marketing methods and supply creative marketing material to support sales process (d) Provide the Sales function with a comprehensive & well executed Customer Satisfaction Survey process
  • Create opportunities for gaining media coverage within agreed budget
  • Determine cost effective and well negotiated media plan
  • Partner with suppliers, vendors, agencies in augmenting their expertise in enhancing the value proposition of APMT as a brand
  • Support the global communications team with various activities including publicity, visits from senior executives and officials, and media interactions in South Asia
Who we are looking for
  • Completed Bachelor or Master Degree preferbly in Communication, Journalism, Marketing or related field
  • Minimum ten years of experience in corporate communications or journalism role, preferably in the maritime sector
  • Prior experience interfacing with government officials, regulatory bodies and labor unions in South Asia
  • Prior experience in organizing and managing press events, and a thorough knowledge of the local media landscape are highly valued (Focal point/knowledge broker)
  • Proven track record as an editor, proof-reader, and copywriter
  • Solid understanding of maritime industry including key players, key roles and strategic agendas
  • Holds established media contacts and relationships in South Asia
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage the brand image across the country.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Able to manage tight and potentially conflicting priorities, with a sense of urgency
  • Self-starter who is able to take initiative, and work across functions in communication issues.
  • Experience managing handled communications during transformation phase or mission critical assignments would have added advantage
