Maersk Drilling is currently looking for a Technical Superintendent to join our rig team in Houston, Texas.

Key Responsibilities
Be well acquainted with the relevant national and international acts and regulations in respect of the operations and maintenance of rigs

Ensure that the maintenance and other work within your responsibility are conducted in accordance with safe and good oil field practice and that any incident or accident is reported in the reporting system Synergi

When requested, participate in the planning of the activities; managing the interest of Maersk Drilling US in respect of the obligations to clients

Review operational equipment requirements in light of current technology and regulatory requirements, and make recommendations accordingly

In projects, act as Maersk Drilling US representative: responsible for safe, timely deliveries within the agreed budgets

Ensure implementation and follow-up on Maersk Drilling US HSE policy, and goals, including HSE programs

Cooperate with the HSE Department in contingency and safety matters, and in implementation and updating of the Quality Assurance System and HSE plans

Conduct routine Rig visits, inspections and audits according to Maersk Drilling US procedures

Follow up on all maintenance and modification works on the rig and ensure that the planned Preventive Maintenance System (SAP R3) is complied with. When required, take the necessary action for having the system updated

Provide relevant information for use in the monthly invoice to the client and in the absence of the Unit Director or and Rig Leader ensure that the invoice is forwarded the client in due time

Keep daily communication with the staff on the rig, and follow up the maintenance

Special attention to the maintenance and correct repair of the rigs marine systems including the DP systems most be paid at all times

Follow up deliveries from designers, and vendors and take the necessary activities of planning

Close cooperation with the Unit Director, Rig Leader and other Maersk Drilling US staff members

Develop and maintain good relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, repair shops, and service companies
Who we are looking for
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Technical Section Leader on relevant offshore installation

Background as a Marine Engineer or similar

Good knowledge to the use of SAP R3 maintenance system

Offshore safety courses in accordance with the requirements stipulated by the continental shelf authority of the operating area

Must be fluent in English

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship
