Maersk Oil Qatar is currently developing and expanding the facilities in the Al Shaheen Field offshore Qatar. The Maersk Oil Research & Technology Centre (MORTC) is Maersk Oil’s first global research and technology centre tasked with developing cutting-edge applications for the Al Shaheen field while supporting Qatar’s 2030 Vision of a knowledge-based future. The $100 million USD centre, dubbed the MORTC, is located at the Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), which is supported by other industrial majors including oil companies. The MO-RTC will focus on research that will create practical and applicable solutions to clearly-defined problems in oil and gas production.

Key Responsibilities
To conduct a literature study on existing Produced Water Re-Injection criteria in the world and Maersk Oil in specific. You will work closely in collaboration with academia and professionals at the Environmental Theme at MORTC. You will learn, identify, and capture more about the effect of produced water in marine life in the Gulf. You may also have the task of running a literature survey on the corrosion / erosion effect of the exposed equipment’s such as; Submersible Sea, Water Lift Pumps, Pipelines, Platform Structure, Drains on the marine life.
Who we are looking for
A student who is currently studying Biological Science or Environmental Science and who has good communication skills. They should have the ability to start the project and get necessary information and work under the Environmental Team, as well as presenting the results at the end of the internship
