The main purpose of the role is to manage the structural inspection strategy and programme of assets operated in the Al Shaheen field in accordance with Maersk Oil Qatar (MOQ) procedures and guidelines, legislative requirements and industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare and execute activities for the annual General Visual Inspection of primary topside steelwork, ensuring the required level of integrity, reliability and safety.
Plan, prepare and execute the annual inspection of jackets and subsea structures ensuring the required level of integrity, reliability and safety.
Implement operational priorities, targets and plans in line with policies, guidelines and operating procedures.
Provide the Marine and Pipelines Team Lead with regular reports on performance and results, and to be held accountable for area of responsibility
Plan, prepare and execute detailed joint inspection (NDE) of joints with low fatigue life on request from Structural TA2.
Track and monitor cash flow, cost controls and expenses towards optimum utilization of company’s resources within own area; report variances between actual expenditure and budget.
Exhibit financial prudence in all decisions; approve operational expenses within level of authority.
Drive an incident free environment through establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture.
Contribute to the development and execution of safe work processes, operating procedures and guidelines to ensure process safety, operational safety and plant integrity.
Organise and supervise the activities and work of contractors to ensure compliance to relevant health, safety (occupational & process) and environmental excellence procedures and controls within area of responsibility to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.

Collate and provide reports as requested to the Team Lead on health, safety and environmental issues related to area of work; take corrective action wherever necessary.
Prepare detailed risk based inspection plans for topside structures and jackets based on company RBI philosophy.
Ensure vendor personnel are pre-job briefed onshore, informed about offshore contact persons and informed about relevant HSE issues including relevant Offshore Safety Procedures (OSPs) before offshore mobilization.
Request vendor’s mobilisation (including OVN, QP pass and IAP).
Review and follow-up on offshore reports regarding improper design, poor workmanship, non-compliance to MOQ standards; take appropriate action within level of authority.
Responsible for the execution of structural inspections of subsea structures, jackets, topsides and bridges.
Pro-actively assess the results of the inspection programme and modify the strategy as required in response to findings.
Prepare and implement a risk base inspection and maintenance plan for bolted structural connections.
Prepare and maintain an inspection and maintenance plan for fire and blast walls.
Plan, prepare and schedule conductor thickness measurement inspection campaigns.
Develop and maintain inspection drawings where necessary.
Populate and maintain up to date database for inspection findings with remedial actions, where necessary.
Establish scope of work for remedial offshore work related to findings, including prioritization of findings.
Issue yearly report with findings to third party verification authority for approval.
Feedback inspection results and communicate them to Engineering Department (for information management and further fitness for service assessment)
Participate in Task Risk assessments.
Actively participate in daily communication and coordination between off- and on-shore businesses pertaining to key business matters and sharing of knowledge and experience
Establish and maintain effective relationships with external parties required to meet MOQ’s business and operational objectives
Represent MOQ vis-à-vis external stakeholders in areas of operational responsibility.
Liaise with structural assurance team (F&P) on RBI
Proactively take responsibility for self-progression by keeping abreast with latest developments, knowledge and innovations in relevant field of expertise
Who we are looking for
The candidate should have University Degree in Structural/Mechanical/Marine Engineering/Bachelor’s Degree (or relevant industry experience) in Engineering preferred or discipline specific qualification.
The candidate shall have minimum 8 years relevant oil & gas industry experience.
The candidate must be Fluent in written and spoken English.
Team player showing individual initiative, responsibility and integrity. The candidate should have the Knowledge of structural steel design, static behaviour of topside and jacket structures & associated principal failure modes, Knowledge of API RP2A and Maersk Oil Standards is preferable. Should have Understand fatigue damage development in tubular joints. Good understanding of international codes and standards for Structural Design and Integrity Management.
Experience in marine, ROV and diving operation.
Qualification as a Structural Technical Authority Level 3.
