The purpose of the role is to maintain, inspect and evaluate pipelines, launchers / receivers’ integrity and reliability, advise of timely repair/replacement in order to maintain asset integrity in accordance with Maersk Oil Qatar (MOQ) procedures and guidelines, legislative requirements, technical standards and industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities
Include
•Drive an incident free environment through establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture
•Contribute to the development and execution of safe work processes, operating procedures and guidelines to ensure process safety, operational safety and plant integrity
•Organize and supervise the activities and work of junior staff to ensure compliance to relevant health, safety (occupational & process) and environmental excellence procedures and controls within area of responsibility to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude
•Identify opportunities and champion initiatives that enable maximum production and injection output within the parameters of environmental compliance and process safety
•Provide the Team Lead with regular reports with analysis and comment on performance and results, and to be held accountable for area of responsibility
•Ensure efficient coordination of field activities including production planning, planned maintenance and well service activities to minimize production disruptions and ensure maximum value is extracted from any downtime opportunities
•Work with relevant functional groups to establish long term strategic priorities, targets and annual plans in line with MOQ policies and guidelines; ensure successful execution
•Establish and maintain effective relationships with external parties, functional teams and corporate groups as required to meet MOQ’s strategic business and operational objectives
•Ensure vendor personnel are pre-job briefed onshore, informed about offshore contact persons and informed about relevant HSE issues including relevant Offshore Safety Procedures (OSPs) before offshore mobilization
•Support root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and Near Miss actions, proactively follow-up on all relevant Synergi cases, ASTF findings and other relevant HSE issues within area of responsibility.
•Attend and assist supervise major, important and/or critical breakdown jobs within area of responsibility; provide inputs as required
•Review and follow-up on offshore reports regarding wrong design, poor workmanship, non-compliance to MOQ standards; take appropriate action within level of authority
•Establish seamless day-to-day offshore support and follow-up within area of responsibility
•Develop and maintain pipeline inspection plans, wet-lay programs, etc and assure that pipelines are assessed using RBI methodology
•Undertake periodic review of inspection plans and corrosion control; implements changes / improvements from new techniques and lessons learned
•Pipeline data: ensure pipeline matrix is current and reflects latest pipeline operating conditions and parameters (maintain pipeline condition register up-to-date).
•Ensure timely inspection of pipelines, launchers / receivers and provide written report on findings including defect assessment
•Respond quickly to changes in RBA reports by constantly reviewing operating conditions, next planned inspection interval and adjust interval where necessary
•Pipeline integrity: Provide written reports on integrity status (incl. defect assessment)
•Oversee cleaning programs, cleaning tools availability and functionality, and provide timely statistical performance reports, including issues associated with overdue cleaning
•Corrosion Control (Chemicals): Interface with Chemicals to identify appropriate chemicals and treatment protocols. Evaluate chemical applications & availability
•Support materials selection and corrosion management
•Maintains knowledge and implementation of state-of-the-art inspection and corrosion management techniques to ensure highly efficient inspection plans and maintain asset integrity
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate should be
•BSc / MSc Metallurgy / Materials / Mechanical Engineering.
•Chartered Engineer
•UKAS Level 1 Inspection Engineer or other recognised equivalent Plant Inspection qualification
•Pipeline Design / Defect Assessment Qualifications

Should also have
•15+ years’ experience in corrosion, inspection & pipeline integrity for offshore oil & gas production
•Capable of managing large scale pipeline inspection programs
•Capable of managing dynamic operating pipelines matrix including risk assessments and forward looking condition reports
•Ability to liaise with 3rd party verification contractor and discuss fitness for service criteria relating to ageing facilities
•Broad experience of statistical analysis of pipeline data as a means of evaluating inspection results
•Capable of supporting all departments in materials, corrosion control & integrity management functions
•Fluency in written and spoken English
•Knowledge of materials, corrosion control & degradation mechanisms for pipelines and other facilities
•Knowledge of pipeline cleaning tools, advanced pipeline NDT techniques, and pipeline condition assessments
•Knowledge of major deterioration mechanisms associated with oil & gas production
•ANSI B31G, RSTRENG
•DNV RP F101, DNV RP F116
•ISO 15156
•Know Microsoft suite & relevant software packages (Electronic Corrosion Engineer, CREDO, DNV RPO501, Nexus, etc.)
•Knowledge of SAP
