You will have the opportunity to support TLWP new build project coordination, together with future modifications and preparations for rig construction and commissioning.

You will provide engineering support for the on-site operational team during construction and coordinate with Wells Engineering function in relation to the well planning programme during operations.
Key Responsibilities
•Represent Maersk Oil Wells team during the planning, construction and deployment of the Self Contained Drilling Rig and associated support services on board Chissonga TLWP.
•Provide interface, assistance and advice where required with Chissonga Projects and Facilities group during planning, construction, commissioning and acceptance phases.
•Provide local point of contact on behalf of Wells group with O&M Drilling Contractor.
•Monitor and review construction programme for Self Contained Drilling Rig. Report on progress, together with interpretation of potential delay and outline the inherent implications. Provide input to schedulers.
•Define Maersk Oil expectations with all parties and feedback on results.
•Provide input for on-site HSE team on activity and learnings arising from Shipyard operations.
•Evaluation of Corporate and industry drilling standards related to Wells operations and equipment, including gap analysis and compliance.
•Liaise with EPCI contractor on all aspects of rig equipment classification during new build installation and develop procedures with the O&M contractor for operational readiness and to maintain class.
•During operational phase, provide engineering and operational support to Drilling Superintendent.
•Investigation and evaluation of innovative equipment that could be installed on all MOA contracted rigs to improve safety, environmental impact or operational efficiency.
•Demonstrate a sound understanding of rig contracts and ensure all work carried out conforms to contract requirements.
•Setting technical requirements for rigs to be contracted by MOA and ensuring that the requirements are adequately addressed within the rig contracts.
•Assist in technical evaluation of drilling rig tenders.
•Participation in rig inspections and pre-hire audits of drilling rigs.
•The Wells Operations Engineer will continue to support MOA and the O&M Drilling Contractor to ensure a smooth start-up of TLWP Wells Operations once on location.
•This position will report to The Wells Operations Manager, however when on-site, there will a report line to the Maersk Oil Site Manager for all aspects of the construction phase.
•The position will be placed in Houston during detailed engineering (until approx. 6 months after award of TLWP contract) and then relocate to Korea , for 2-3 years then transferring to Angola for Wells operations.
•The position shall include periods of intense travel activity; in particular during manufacturing and FAT’s of equipment packages.
•To create a behavior based safety culture within own team and Contractor’s and key vendors corresponding team, actively promoting and be a role model for safe execution of the project work.
•Action Tracking progress and ensuring “No Change Orders”.
Who we are looking for
•Degree qualified Drilling Engineer with a minimum of 10 year’s industry experience.
•Drilling Engineer and operational Drilling supervisor with experience in an offshore drilling operation, with strong exposure to working in deep water operations.
•Sound understanding and experience in programme execution in Drilling and completions and well intervention operations
•Demonstrate knowledge of interface required for well intervention, SIMOPS
•Capable of demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the functionality and application on a multi-purpose drilling unit.
•Experience in rig build, modification, upgrade and rig acceptance together with involvement in project management.
•High awareness and knowledge of safe working practices and critical safety systems.
•Strong understanding of other disciplines and interfaces.
•Team leadership skills.
•Ability to work with many different disciplines and cultures at all levels.
•Good communication and interpersonal skills.
•Proactively seeking advice from others and share own experiences with team.
•Represent the company and be a role model for the company values.
