Maersk Oil Kazakhstan is looking for Lead Safety Engineer to be based in Aktau, Kazakhstan 5/2.
We Offer
Maersk Oil Kazakhstan GmbH (MOK) holds a 60% interest and operatorship of the Dunga field with partners Partex Oil and Gas and Oman Oil Overseas holding a 20% interest each. The 281 square km onshore block is located some 50 km north of Aktau in western Kazakhstan. It is operated under a Production Sharing Agreement signed in 1994;

Key Responsibilities
Provide expertise and direction within the area of technical safety to operations, maintenance and projects departments;
Provide guidance and advice to management regarding Technical Safety issues;
Manage external studies and consultants;
Embed incident-free culture within the organisation;
Leading/participating in incident investigations;
Leading/participating in Asset Integrity/Process Safety Reviews and Audits;
Participating in design reviews;
Assume technical authority over technical safety matters;
Assurance of key technical safety activities and deliverables;
Ensure facilities are designed and operated in accordance with company requirements;
Sharing of knowledge from internal and external incidents and learnings;
Provide technical safety design input for Projects and FMPs
Who we are looking for
Minimum 15 years of technical safety in engineering, projects and operations from the oil and gas upstream industry;
Detailed knowledge of oil & gas process, utility and safety system;
Good knowledge of relevant international standards (ISO, API, NFPA);
Experience with onshore requirements and regulations in Republic of Kazakhstan (or a similar regulatory environment) is preferred;
Able to work independently, proactively and be task/result-oriented, often with a tight schedule and with the right sense of urgency;
Demonstrated experience and interest in the development and mentoring of specialist staff;
Good communication and social skills, effective across a broad spectrum of nationalities and cultures;
Ability to build effective relationships with other disciplines and contractors;
Ability to effectively represent Maersk Oil externally
