The Sales, TNM & Analytics groups in the GSC also referred to as “STAD” includes various processes from these functions. Some key business processes of STAD are Pre-Sales: Quote and Tendering, Contracting, Demurrage & Detention, Trade and Marketing, Disputes, Advanced Analytics, Technology support and Business Intelligence.
The Maersk Group Analytics (MGA) is the central organization within GSC which has been
set up to support businesses within the Maersk Group with their requirements of Business
Intelligence & Analytics. The unit is based in 4 locations of the GSC (Chennai, Manila, Powai
& Pune) and has practices aligned to various functional competencies and provides various
analytics/ information based support to Maersk globally. Finance Analytics practice focuses on finance/ accounting
related reporting, consulting and advanced analytics projects.

Key Responsibilities
The role supports the objective of getting the right information to the right people at the
right time through providing reports and analyses leading to data-driven decision making
and a single source of the truth. It is necessary that you are able to handle multiple tasks at
the same time and still be efficient in managing your time and deadlines. The role exposes
you to high profile, global stakeholders and it is important you are able to deliver as you
promised making sure that the data or report is no less than of high quality. It is expected
that whenever relevant, analysis, insights, or recommendations are provided to meet
stakeholder request objectives.
Reporting & Analytical Work:
* Primary role is to take ownership of current and in the pipeline/ transition reports,
analyses, and projects for global stakeholders
* Work with the stakeholders or other teams to develop or take transition of new Analytical
reports or solutions based on the Stakeholder requirements.
* Submit timely and accurate deliverables. Manage issues, exhaust all possible fix and
escalate to appropriate desks for resolutions of issues
* Provide and communicate business intelligence expertise across the organization to
address the need and concern of new technology, methodology, tools, best practices and
procedures in line with long term business strategy
* Able to spot business and data trends and translate information as value-adding insight to
stakeholder
* Project Management
Stakeholder Management:
* Proactive communication with Stakeholders in terms of delay or issues.
* Establish and maintain good relationships with stakeholders through constant
communication and business partnering
* Able to identify and confidently use the appropriate ML system as per stakeholder
requirements/objectives
Process Excellence:
* Identify process improvements areas in his/her own process or other team members and
work on the same to provide efficiency and cost/ time savings.
Training & Development:
* Proactively learn how to use new and existing systems and tools, business/ market
developments
* Participate in available and relevant business and systems trainings
* Act as consultant to team members
Who we are looking for
Post Graduate/ MBA in Finance with minimum of 2+ years Industry
experience in reporting / BI /analytics/ consulting.
Strong MS Excel/ MS Access/ Power point skills
Should have a good understanding of business, finance and accounting aspects.
Experience in Micro-strategy, analytical tools (R, SPSS, SAS) would be
preffered.
Ability to handle large datasets and also comfortable working with multiple data sources.
Analytical skills - The candidate should be service oriented with a keen eye for detail.
There should be a strong commitment towards the quality and integrity of the work in hand.
Strong communication/ presentation skills – spoken and written
Ability to deal with ambiguity with respect to final results and design work required to instantiate them
Working knowledge of Statistical Concepts & Tools
The candidate should be a strong team player with flexible attitude
A good presence of mind which can identify solutions and have the conviction to execute the same.

Maersk Group has five core businesses which include Maersk Line, APM Terminals, Maersk Oil and Maersk Drilling and Services and Other Shipping. Through these companies and several others, the Group employs roughly 89,000 people and generated 47 billion US dollars in revenue in 2013. When the Global Service Centres (GSC) was established in 1999, the main focus was to provide off shoring opportunities and solutions to the shipping and logistics business units of the Maersk Group, particularly for Maersk Line. But as the GSCs’ competencies grew, other business units of the Group also started migrating their processes to the Global Service Centres. The GSCs are located in Manila, Philippines; Chengdu, China; and Pune, Chennai, Mumbai in India handling the service delivery and business relationship management for Maersk Group business units.
