The purpose of this position is to optimize our terminal operations and husbandry services (in-house and outsourced) within APALOC. Proactively interacts with husbandry service providers in managing our service level agreements. Coordinates with relevant stakeholders (internal and external) in optimizing overall port stay at the terminal.
Key Responsibilities
  • Optimizing port stay at the terminal by seeking opportunities in reducing waiting time through the entire life cycle of the port operations.
  • Engages key stakeholders in the location (terminal operators / cluster operations and relevant liner operations teams) to improve overall port productivity and deploy the pit stop concept.
  • Effectively manage the relationship and service level agreements with husbandry service providers.
  • Ensure insourced husbandry activities are undertaken proactively at the lowest operating cost. Build rapport/engagement with the service providers to ensure seamless and timely execution of husbandry activities are undertaken.
  • Key husbandry activities include but are not limited to (at select locations):
o Arranging pilots/tug services/bunkers/ship supply and stores/documentation and related custom formalities/crew changes/etc.
  • Manage and lead the team in driving performance and seamless execution of tasks.
  • Executes the standard processes within the team according to standard requirements
  • Follows training and grows capability to execute the standard processes as good as possible
  • Identifies and executes cost reductions through the SmartOPS process within the team
  • Responsible for performance management and building people capabilities

Performance against Key Responsibilities will be measured based on separate KPIs developed for the position. These will be established and agreed upon within the overall KPIs that are determined for APALOC.
