|Maersk Oil in Esbjerg is looking for a Marine Advisor for the Marine Control Group with experience in marine operations. |
The vacant position as Marine Advisor is located in the Logistic Department. Marine Control is responsible for ensuring the integrity of Maersk Oil’s assets in connection with marine operations and the contract management of accommodation rigs in the Danish sector of the North Sea.
As the work load in the coming years will increase, a variety of different activities within the group shall be expected.

The Marine Control Group is a small group consisting of very dedicated and competent employees. Team work and assistance are keywords for the group. In the position as Marine Advisor you will refer to the group leader of Marine Control, but a lot of independency and empowerment is offered and also expected. |

|• Advise on marine operations, including but not limited to:|
- Diving, subsea construction, supply operations, survey vessels, towing, anchor handling, heavy lift, geotechnical sampling, pipe laying, rock dumping and other special vessels.
- Rig moving of jackups and semisubmersibles, including detailed anchor plans.
• Vessel inspections and suitability evaluations of vessels and construction barges
• Rig Tendering and negotiation
• Contract Management for rigs and various service companies.
• Maintain Maersk Oil Marine Control Procedure and define requirements for marine operations
• Focal point and coordinator for marine operations
• Prepare, co-ordinate and execute audits and inspections on board the accommodation rig(s)
• Ensure that all rig moves within DUC are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
• Host rig move meetings.
• Conduct risk assessments for rig moves.
• Implementing Incident free mind set in contractors and subcontractors
• HSEQ Reporting in accordance with company requirements
• Rig supervision and management of accommodation rigs
• Marine/Client representative on board rigs and vessels

|The right candidate is a generalist with a marine background combined with mechanical expertize. You have drive and are eager to show initiative. Furthermore you should be practical, systematic and have a persistent approach, combined with creative thinking.|
If you currently are working at sea and would like to pursue a new career onshore, this position will offer challenges, where your experience from the sea will benefit you to undertake the activities in the Marine Control Group to move to the next level in your professional career.
The successful candidate must be a team player, and have extensive experience with marine and/or rig move operations.
Furthermore, good communication and interpersonal skills are required and motivation for high level of activity, plus the ability to solve ad hoc problems on a daily basis. A coaching programme will be offered on the job, if required
The job is vacant and the candidate should start in the position soonest in Esbjerg, Denmark. The position is onshore based and limited offshore visits and/or travel will be required as part of the job.
Formal professional qualifications
You could hold an education as Master Mariner, Marine Engineer with mechanical engineering as a speciality or similar. Proficiency in both written and spoken English is a prerequisite.
