The position is residential and based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities
Act as deputy to the Rig Manager and assist the Rig Manager as required. You will stay in daily contact with the representative(s) of the Operator and ensure that they are correctly informed about all matters concerning the operations related to the rig on contract. You will be well acquainted with the relevant national and international acts and regulations in respect of the operations of the rig. In your daily work you will pay particular attention to the regulations regarding working environment, the protection of the outer environment, emergency preparedness, and safety in general. You will check and follow up on all reports and correspondence from the rig, and ensure that they are acted upon and replied to as necessary. It will be important that you ensure that necessary materials and equipment are ordered and shipped to the rig as required, and that you review the various operational equipment requirements in the light of current technology and regulatory requirements, and make recommendations accordingly.

Finally, you will identify and realize business potential in the contract and be a strong driver on performance optimization and efficiency initiatives.
Who we are looking for
You have extensive experience within offshore drilling operations preferably from a position within the drilling section, but are looking for new challenges onshore in a rig team.

You are an experienced leader and preferably have already tried running a business or operation. Through your experience as a leader or manager, you have developed strong communication skills in order to manage and enhance performance, and you have a strong focus on team work. You are a dynamic problem solver, striving for delivering high quality daily operations.

You are computer literate and have a profound understanding of budgeting.

Fluency in written and spoken English is a pre-requisite.
