Maersk Drilling Norge AS was established in 1990 and employs a staff of approximately 1200 people. Maersk Drilling Norge AS currently operates 7 ultra harsh environment jack-up drilling rigs in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
We Offer
Maersk Drilling is expanding our business, and has commenced construction of four new ultra harsh, high capacity jack-up drilling rigs with Keppel FELS Limited in Singapore and Daewoo in South Korea. The rigs are scheduled for delivery in 2014-2016, and the new rigs are all contracted for the Norwegian market and will comply with Norwegian requirements. The first of these newbuilds are now in operation.

To support our Client in Trondheim we are now looking for an Assistant Rig Manager to join our Operations Department.

Workplace will be shared 50/50 between Maersk Drilling Norges office in Stavanger and our Clients office in Trondheim. Extensive travel activity is to be expected
Key Responsibilities
Stay in daily contact with the representative(s) of the Operator and ensure that they are correctly informed about all matters concerning the operations related to the rig on contract.

Be acquainted with relevant national and international rules and regulations in respect of the operation of the rig, particularly relating to the working environment, the protection of the outer environment, emergency preparedness, and safety in general.

Check and follow up all reports and correspondence from the rig, and ensure that they are acted upon and replied to as necessary.

Ensure that necessary materials and equipment are ordered and shipped to the rig, as required.

When requested, participate in the planning of the activities; managing the interest of MDN in respect of the obligations to the Client.

Identify and realize business potential in the contract and in the operation.

Review the various operational requirements in light of current technology, and make recommendations accordingly.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a person with background as:

  • Driller / Tourpusher
  • Engineer with an academic degree
  • Special Driller Trainee


You are fluent in English and have an understanding of Scandinavian language

Maersk Drilling Norge AS seeks an experienced person with flair for drilling / technical tasks to strengthen the drilling operation.
