The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will work as part of the Business Application Team in Qatar in Maersk Oil & Gas providing support, specification, technology and management skills, focused on the Business Intelligence area.

The job requires an intensive 8+ year’s practical experience within development and project management of business intelligence.

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will have focus on helping improving the experience with Business Intelligence through support, training and in the making of specification for the developers from business requirements. With extensive insight in the capabilities of the current BI solution, and being up to date with the trends and development in the market of BI.

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will with business insight from the Oil industry to help specify and support the future business needs for information to improve the decision taking on operational, tactical and strategic levels.

Key Responsibilities
•Project management for local projects with potential to become global
•Provide support and understanding of business intelligence systems
•Keep track of future developments and releases as business requirements will change or develop. Liaising with the Head of Business IT, prioritize releases and development of projects
•Coordinator being in control of the development needed to empower business to take better decisions
•Data expert in regard to modeling and recognize possibilities in how the information is being structured and visualized
•Work closely with MOG to ensure that they have a clear understanding of business priorities and user requirements and discuss future developments, bug fixes and data amendments and/or repairs
•Make sure that assessments of safety, economic impact and technical importance are performed whenever required. Due diligence shall be observed and initiative taken to secure the best result
•Actively monitor work progress such that risks and problem areas are identified, reported and solutions identified
•Undertake any other work and responsibilities as per separate instruction to support local business
•Responsible for organizing clarification workshops with customer analysis
•Appropriate Information handover to support team
•Identify and engage key stakeholders providing effective communication to all parties and minimizing resistance to change
•Provide as necessary, full training on any part of the business systems across several business units including the writing of manuals and training material.
•The central point of contact for all reporting on data contained within the business systems. In addition, provide assistance and training on reports where required
•Help to develop and promote a culture and infrastructure supporting process management and continuous improvement
•Provide training and development of junior members of the Business IT team
•Responsible for providing support to the business, in analyzing business requirements for change requests as well as analyzing and suggesting workarounds for business critical processes and procedures. Analysis is expected to be conducted in conjunction with local or global role being more senior in the solution
•Making appropriate recommendations for suggested solutions. Preparing reports for proposed suggestions
•Intervene in support flow, where identified it’s possible to make a difference bring a faster, better, safer solution in place – together with support function
Who we are looking for
Candidate with
•Bachelor degree in IT or other relevant education
•8+ years relevant experience
•Proficiency working in fast paced, complex, dynamic, multi-cultural business environment
•Proven track record of leading business systems and process analysis and change work streams, within a wider change context from design through to implementation, including elements of project management and basic project management skills
•Experience of user requirements definition and management for large scale technology projects, including structured communication of requirements to software developers

The candidate should also have
•Requirements gathering and coordinating
•Understanding the Oil and Gas business by business processes and according business IT solutions.
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills to understand the end users requirements and transforming them into operational applications in corporation with solution and process experts.
•Good technical IT skills in general
•Technical knowledge of Business Intelligence platform, system installations, conversions, interfaces and support.
•Implementation and support experience (developer or solution architect) with SAP BI and SAP BO, and as well tools like Qlikview
•Good communication skills, both verbal and written including technical writing skills
•Mastering and using workflow modelling tools, techniques and methods
•Attention to detail, but as well skilled in communicating the overall lines in the solution
•Strong organizational skills, and an ability to manage multiple tasks or participation in multiple projects with competing demands for resources, and an ability to change
•Comfortable communicating and dealing with people from a wide range of cultures and from different levels
•Ability to make appropriate recommendations and presentations of suggested solutions
•Able to professionally handle feedback and comments, and act upon them
•Ability to teach end-users and transfer knowledge through mentoring
•Ability to quickly identify and manage issues, finding the best path for resolution, keen to share knowledge and understanding to maximize team effectiveness
