|Maersk Oil Qatar AS is the leading oil producer offshore Qatar and a recognized pioneer in oil development and production techniques. On the basis of an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) signed in 1992 with Qatar Petroleum, Maersk Oil Qatar (MOQ) is the sole operator of the Al Shaheen Field and has recently completed one of the largest oil projects in the world with capital investments of approx. 6 billion USD, called FDP 2005, comprising the drilling of more than 160 production and water injection wells. The current oil production from the Al Shaheen Field is approx. 300,000 barrels/day. |
The Doha Office is currently executing the next stage of the development of the Al Shaheen field with the drilling 50 additional wells over the next three years, an investment of approximately a billion dollars.
|The Petrophysicist will be part of a dynamic Petrophysical group, which is an international and expanding team. Together with the Geoscience, Reservoir Engineering, EOR and the Production Technology expertise in Subsurface working on making the Al Shaheen Field and the FDP project a success. |
This position is onshore based in our Doha, Qatar office.
The Petrophysicist position offers a dynamic environment with a wide range of responsibilities from data analysis to contract evaluations. The integrated operational environment comprises geology, geophysics, petrophysics and reservoir engineers and offers a excellent learning opportunity while contributing.
Technical and analytical skills are key elements in the daily work and the requirement for knowledge building and updates of the relevant qualifications are supported by in-house mentoring and training as well as external training providing a continuous personal development.
|•Plan required petrophysical logging suite for evaluation of wells |
•Petrophysical database management and quality control of petrophysical data
•Document operational logging and evaluations
•Distribute petrophysical data and interpretations internally and externally to partners and authorities as required
•Propose, perform and document analytical petrophysical studies
•Support contract tendering and contract negotiations and provide advice on petrophysical service contractors
•Manage petrophysical contractor contact inclusive logging and core analysis programmes
•Cost control and verification of invoices in accordance with contracts and the work performed
•Evaluate and document core analysis data.
•Contribute to an environment of knowledge sharing and cross disciplinary exchange to allow integrated solutions and strong mentoring and development of less experienced staff
•Prioritize individual tasks
•Contribute to developing best practices and workflows for routine tasks
•Mentoring less experienced petrophysicists

|A candidate having|
•A B.Sc or higher degree in geoscience, engineering of physics.
•Minimum of 2 yr experience from the Oil Industry.
•Strong technical foundation in petrophysics.
•Strong analytical skills.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•Fluency in spoken and written English .
