The Solution Architect is responsible for the technical realization of solutions, ensuring each solution is architected and designed in accordance to enterprise application roadmaps, standards and guidelines.
The Solution Architect will work closely with project teams on their solution designs to ensure effective translation of the solution architecture into solutions. Working in the MLIT Commercial Vertical Solution Architecture function the Architect shall engage with Business process owners, Project Leads, technical project teams, solution vendors and platform vendors through the solution lifecycle with prime responsibility from solution architecting, analysis and design through to deployment.

A key part of this role is to consult and collaborate with other solution architects so that solutions are properly defined and coordinated with solutions being developed in the other MLIT verticals.
We are seeking an architect with a solid experience in online systems employing technologies across various customer interaction channels.
Our ideal candidate operates from a balanced view of all key architectural quality metrics such as performance, scalability, security, reliability, availability, agility and interoperability. The role requires knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures used in all phases of full life cycle applications and systems development, engineering, programming, and analysis at a highly technical level.
Key Responsibilities
• Architect and design mainly online solutions to business requirements in accordance to enterprise application and technology roadmaps, principles, standards and guidelines
• Responsible for taking the Enterprise Solution and Project Start-up Architectures developed during the requirements phase to a sustainable and implementable design
• Work with delivery teams to develop sustainable and achievable online solutions
• Assist solution designers/development team in detail specification of data, service and process requirements
• Assist in identification and definition of non-functional requirements and Technical Architecture Documents
• Advise on solution test strategy and scope
• Consult Centers of Excellence in matters concerning services, business rules, business processes and test
• Provide leadership and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects
• Drive the adoption and implementation of the SOA governance processes and architecture design principles across various development teams throughout the full life cycle of the project
• Monitor data modeling activities and results ensuring proper feedback of changes to the Enterprise Logical Data Model
• Build and maintain a catalogue of architectural decisions
• Develop, maintain and publish standards, guidelines and processes as needed, ensuring alignment with Enterprise Architecture
• Identify, discuss, decide on, request and log exceptions to EA principles and standards during the course of solution design and development
• Technical coordination across projects and teams within the portfolio and across verticals
• Escalation layer for technical issues – single point of contact for architectural issues in the related projects
• Participate and contribute to the solution architecture community established across all MLIT verticals and horizontals
Who we are looking for
Technical skills:
• 6-8 years of experience architecting, and leading complicated online projects
• Great analytical skills in mastering multi-functional highly scalable online systems, firm understanding of computer science, networking technologies and design, multi-tenant applications, and database technologies
• Excellent understanding of one or more of the following
o Online technologies and channels , including web services, mobile apps, EDI, messaging, voice, social media, and collaborative solutions
o Business process management
o Business rules management
o Service Oriented architecture
o Web services, Enterprise Service Bus
o Legacy to SOA Transformation
o Event Management and Message driven interfaces
o Proficient in UML
• Experience in different development paradigms (Agile, Lean Product Development, Waterfall)
• Excellent knowledge in application of design techniques and -methodologies
• Excellent knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Hands-on experience as solution architect for large-scale projects and communication skills to articulate, rationalize and document architectural decisions
• Experience mentoring and leading teams of architects and developers in implementing distributed architectures and solving significant technical challenges
• Regularly provide guidance, training and coaching to other team members
• Experience with SOA Governance and Lifecycle Processes

• Fluent in oral and written English

• Team lead experience desirable
