Key Responsibilities
Ensuring safe operations.
Responsible for acid stimulation operations of long horizontal carbonate wells, incl. design and optimisation of both procedures and equipment. Actively pursue new technology and solutions if deemed beneficial.
Ensure stimulation programmes, risk assessments and procedures are made timely in collaboration with the Petroleum Engineers in the Subsurface departments, Project Teams and Asset.
Mentor & Train personnel within stimulation operations.
Stay abreast of new technology within the industry, and drive innovation & implementation of horizontal well completion technology for improved oil recovery/productivity and safer operations.
Assist with planning and implementation of well interventions and workovers, for the purpose of stimulation, equipment change-out or abandonment.
Initiate pre and post-job evaluations of tools, equipment, and procedures.
Stay in close contact with the Petroleum Engineers in the Subsurface Departments on all well completion and stimulation issues, in order perform effectively.
Monitor equipment performance and where required, ensure corrective measures are implemented immediately.
Assist in design and implementation of artificial lift methods, as and when required.
Ensure that all documentation and information prepared and/or obtained in the course of work is handled in strict confidence.
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with colleagues, thus ensuring an efficient and professional outcome in all matters and a good working climate.
Who we are looking for
A degree at BSc or MSc level in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
Strong theoretical and operational skills in vessel based stimulation operations and acid stimulation of long horizontal carbonate wells.
Minimum 6 - 8 years of upstream oil and gas experience and minimum
4 years within well stimulation operations as supervisor or senior/lead engineer.
Fluent in English – written and spoken.
An effective team player.
Strong theoretical and operational skills in vessel based stimulation Skilled in mentoring and training of personnel.
Experienced with tendering for stimulation vessels.
