Maersk Maritime Technology (MMT) is the maritime engineering consultancy unit supporting the Maersk Group’s fleet of over 500 container, tanker and offshore supply vessels.
|MMT is a multi-disciplinary environment, delivering support and projects across the world on newbuilding, ship retrofit and conversion, technical innovation, vessel performance optimisation and a variety of other specialist technical services to the Maersk Business Units. |
In addition to continuously improving the cost-effectiveness, safety and reliability of the Maersk fleet, MMT is currently highly engaged in developing and implementing technology solutions to push environmental performance to new levels.
Working in Maersk Maritime Technology you will be part of a highly skilled team of engineers with deep specialist knowledge across the technical disciplines of ship technology.
Headquartered in Copenhagen, we have an office in Mumbai as well as site supervision offices at shipyards worldwide.
We are currently searching to fill a position in Copenhagen within our Naval Architecture Department.
|As a Naval Architect your projects and assignments will typically include:|
• Complete process of building a new vessel, involving all phases from pre-contract, contract, newbuilding specification, plan approval, construction, supervision, sea trial to delivery of the vessel
• Conversion projects from conceptual idea to implementation
• Innovation projects
• Technical support to vessels in operation
You will be prepared for tasks with a long term horizon and at the same time being flexible to navigate between projects having a very short delivery time. In some projects you will undertake the role as project manager, in other projects you will take the role as contributor with senior specialist knowledge.
With focus on innovation, safety, cost-effectiveness and environmental solutions, you will contribute to setting the future technical standards for new and existing vessels.
Some business travel, e.g. to the Far East, is to be expected.
|Who we are looking for|
|We are looking for a Naval Architect who has developed a solid technical know-how within ship design and with vessels in operation, as well as have expertise in more specific areas. |
Specialist experience could be within specific ship types, preferably detailed knowledge on container-, tank- and supply vessels or within technical areas such as strength, stability, hydrodynamics, deck outfitting, as well as class experience.
You hold at least a bachelor degree in naval architecture and you are a skilled project manager with solid experience within the marine industry.
You must have the ability to work independently and we expect you to be open minded, innovative, determined, proactive, structured and able to multitask. At the same time you are able to share and apply knowledge and learning you gain from your colleagues.
