Here in Qatar, MOQ has also grown significantly in the last 20 years with one of the world’s largest water flood fields; offshore water/alternating gas, EOR projects and horizontal wells.
We have already come a long way on our Transformation journey, but there is recognition both globally and in Qatar that there remain opportunities to take a more collaborative and integrated approach, and become more proactive and forward-looking.

Through a new our organisational structure and with further alignment with the global Maersk Oil operating model, we will better position ourselves to deliver on our Business Priorities and FDPs.
The aim of the Organisational Review is to identify an operating model for Qatar that will allow us to conduct and grow our business (for example, the implementation of future FDPs through integrated teams) in a more efficient, structured and therefore sustainable way.

Key Responsibilities
•Contribute to maintaining a strong incident free culture within MOQ by role modelling safety behaviours and taking corrective action wherever necessary
•Ensure process safety is managed efficiently within the Discipline Area and across Discipline Area interfaces
•Implement, manage and drive improvements to the discipline area related content of the Local Management System
•Contribute to development of and ensure compliance with discipline area processes and standards
•Ensure effective use of the global Asset Management Process (AMP) and sub-processes across the asset to drive the functional agenda. AMP Sub-processes comprise
• Production Excellence (PX agenda, production strategy, production assurance; operating philosophy)
•Integrated Activity Planning
•Operational Integrity Management
•Operations Readiness Process
•Production Operations Standards
•Enable discipline area resources to apply relevant standards and processes when delivering work in the Asset
•Ensure that asset procedures and guidelines are updated and in compliance with the Corporate requirements
•Support Head of Production Operations in maintaining overview of local Production discipline resources
•Discipline focal point on technology; supporting technology development and application locally
•Provide leadership and coaching to all discipline area resources; ensure relevant training plans are in place and support in developing capabilities to fulfil their roles.
•Uphold and role model the Company’s core values and leadership behaviours
•Support the drive for Qatarisation
Who we are looking for
Candidate with :
•Degree (or direct equivalent, or relevant industry experience) in engineering discipline preferred; or other relevant technical discipline qualification
•Production operations discipline or process engineering related background
•Significant knowledge of offshore oil and gas industry operations at leadership level
•Proven skills in change management and introducing improvements to processes and ways of working
•Ability to engage, influence and manage stakeholders at all levels
•Proven communication and collaboration skills
•Commercial and business acumen
•Strong networking skills externally and internally
•Ability to influence business decision making and indirect reports
•Fluency in written and spoken English

Maersk Oil Qatar AS is the leading oil producer offshore Qatar and a recognized pioneer in oil development and production techniques. On the basis of an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) signed in 1992 with Qatar Petroleum, Maersk Oil Qatar (MOQ) is the sole operator of Al Shaheen field.
The current oil production from the Al Shaheen field is approximately 300,000 barrels per day from nine different locations and is exported via two main offshore facilities.
 Maersk Oil is an international oil and gas company with a 2016 entitlement production of 313,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
