Projects: Senior Project Legal Advisor
|Maersk Oil is looking for a Senior Project Legal Advisor to provide legal support and services to a major new project. You will also contribute to contract project strategy and tender procedures and develop standard project contracts. You will have regular interaction across the various departments within the company and with counterparts within the industry (e.g. other operators, non-operators, contractors, government)|

|•Contributing to mitigation of potential disputes and claims|
•Implementing contract strategy and tender procedures
•Overseeing and resolving negotiation of construction, EPIC and drilling contracts, services and procurement contracts
•Dispute resolution, including warranty and other contract claims
•Corporate reporting requirements
•Legal support to tender committee related matters and support during meetings with Qatar Petroleum
•Liaison with Qatar Petroleum as required
•Supervision of younger lawyers in the project team
•Initially, prior to allocation full-time to the Project the job holder’s role will include preparation for the above responsibilities including:
•Getting to know the organisation
•Familiarisation with previous field development projects and lessons learned
•Using experience to plan measures to mitigate disputes and claims
•Strengthening Project knowledge including regular visits to the Project team in Copenhagen
•Ad hoc support to ongoing development projects
|Who we are looking for|
|We are looking for a professionally qualified lawyer with solid commercial acumen, theoretical background and professional experience, you will have;|
•An understanding of the oil and gas business (experience in the Middle East will be an advantage) and project management/execution experience in development projects
•Legal and negotiation skills and commitment to teamwork and a high degree of personal and professional accountability
•Cultural awareness and ability to work effectively in multi-cultural teams
•Experience in managing a team, will be an advantage although not a requirement Highly developed written and verbal communication skills plus an ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation
